A special contest of debut full-length, live-action and documentary film projects among the countries of the Arctic Council within the 19th Spirit of Fire IDFF accepts applications.
The contest is aimed at supporting ideas and scripts for debut film projects related to the Arctic, representing various aspects of life in the region, and is focused on Arctic issues: Arctic peoples, flora and fauna (biodiversity), ocean, pollution and climate.
The contest is held in an online format and is an open, limited in time presentation and defence of film projects before the Expert Council on an online platform. The order and format of presentations are approved by the moderator.
The aim of the contest is to provide financial and organizational support to amateur filmmakers who attract the attention of the world and professional community to the issues of importance to the Arctic: ecology, indigenous peoples, generational continuity, preservation of traditions and culture, etc.
The winner of the contest receives 100 thousand rubles for writing the script, as well as the opportunity to come to the Film Festival as a guest in 2022.
The author of an idea or a script, screenwriter or producer from the Arctic Council countries who has submitted all documents according to the Regulations on the Debut Scripts Contest can participate in the contest without age limit.
Applications are accepted from November 15, 2020, to January 12, 2021. The set of documents must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. One application corresponds to one competitive work.
The participants will be informed about the date and time of the Pitching later, according to the applications for the contest.
The winners will be announced at the opening ceremony of the 19th Spirit of Fire IDFF on March 15.
